November is national Alzheimer’s months and Diabetes month. Diabetes is a common disease in the United States, it’s when your body produces insulin. There are two types of diabetes type one and type two. Type one is caused by not having a a pancreas that produces insulin, your blood sugar becomes high and damages nerves in your body, blood vessels, heart, and can be very damaging to your brain. Type two diabetes is caused when you produce enough insulin but the insulin cannot carry the insulin into the blood, which makes you insulin resistant. Alzheimer’s is a form of dementia mainly with old people. It affects the brains thought control along with memory along with others. Alzheimer’s is mainly caused by genetics, lifestyle and the environment, this could all affect the brain over time in most people.
Both diabetes and Alzheimer are common in the United States. The month of November is to help people spread awareness for the many people with both diabetes and Alzheimer’s. To spread awareness you can do the following:Write hope on your hand and post it online. Wear blue on Fridays which is to support diabetes and go purple for Alzheimer’s. Donate money to charities that are supporting life/research for diabetes. Join some fundraiser walks such as ‘Walk to Stop Diabetes’ and ‘Walk to End Alzheimer’s’. Also spread the word around town or in your community. There are many things to spread awareness for these diseases that happen to many Americans, going online and posting about them helps out to. So spread the word and help support people with diabetes!
