Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 is the National Hispanic Heritage Month. Which is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries; Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico declared its independence on Sept.16 and Chile on Sept. 18.

Jasmin Quan from Honduras expressed that her favorite part about being Hispanic is her unique culture. “Its

colorful and fun.” Quan excitedly stated. Quan’s favorite type of hispanic music is Reggaeton.

Reggaeton is a genre of music. Its a mix of Reggae, rap, and hip-hop. “Its a good beat to move

to and fun to listen to.” Quan stated.

Cynthia Martinez, from Mexico said, “My favorite part of being hispanic is everything

but mostly the food.”

Stephanie Garcia, another student from Mexico, said her favorite hispanic

food is tacos. “They are very tasty and will always be my favorite food.” Stephanie said.

The Hispanic culture will always be known for their food, the music, the people, the colorful
