The Kimball High School aquatic teams have been through a tumultuous year, but they seem

to be on the up and up again. With an exiled girls’ water polo coach, a new boys’ water polo coach and now

a new swim coach: Michele Loomis. In the spring sports season, Michele Loomis has taken over

the swim team, after over 12 years of being a swim mom. With her longstanding first hand experience, even

being a swimmer herself, she felt that she was supremely qualified for the open position.

The swimmers welcome Loomis with open arms, and are excited to see what she has to bring to the team.

“I’m really excited for [Michele] to coach us,” senior Nina Dalupan says, “she’s so passionate and she really

cares about us as swimmers.”

Although the team is smaller than previous years, the spirits are high and the swimmers are excited for

what the season will bring. This is Loomis’ first time coaching a high school team and her first meet is next

Thursday, March 15 at Ripon High School. We will soon see if all of her passion and hard work has paid
